The Technical Group of Dust Collection is one of the oldest technical groups in APPIE. This technical group is continuously engaged in the following activities: multifunctional dust collection technology, durability of filter cloth, establishment of ISO standards of bag filter system, exchange with overseas organizations toward establishment of international standards, and education. The group collects and sends the latest information of dust collection under high temperature and pressure which has been an important subject for more than 10 years. Also, the group provides the results of survey concerning improvement of separation performance for ultra fine particles including nanoparticles and multifunctional technology toward simultaneous separation of various gaseous components.
Current level of technology, trend and activities in future
- The current interest in the field of dust collection is separation of fine particles. This group will conduct investigation in relation to nano-technology and PM2.5. The group will play a leading role in introduction of new technology such as development of multifunctional technology which aims to expand use application of dust collection equipment. These activities should be continued from now on.
- Most members of this group are interested in international standardization of bug filter cloths and the system of dust collection. This group will put much effort in this issue. Particularly concerning standardization of the system of dust collection, the group will work to support establishment of Japan-led evaluation test of system through the implementation of round robin test. The group has taken into consideration the request from users of dust collectors and has always taken the needs of members in advance. This style of activities will be continued.
- Based on the above knowledge and experiences, the group gives specialized lecture course and early training course in the program of APPIE continued education. At the same time, the group tries to renew Handbook of Bug Filter. The group will contribute to cultivation of human resources and technical tradition aiming at further development of dust collection research.
