About us

The technical group of fine powder nano-technology started as a project type technical group. It was changed to a fundamental powder technical group by a nanotechnology boom. In the group action, we are collecting the technical trend and industrial information about synthesis, application and risk management of many nanoparticles, and distributing those trends and information for members.

 Current level of technology, trend and activities in future

Fundamental science and technologies, such as low cost mass-production, dispersion, adhesion and aggregation behavior control of nano and fine particles in gas and liquid phase have been developing during recent several years. In the field of material, medical, pharmaceutical and chemical process, nano and fine particles begin to be applied to some industrial products such as the conductive material, toner and pharmaceutical products. From viewpoints such as risk management, exposure prevention and upgrade of mass production systems, technical development peculiar to nano and fine particles is demanded from the conventional particle technology such as separation, refinement, dust-collection, and filtration. On the other hand, nano and fine particles have been used to yield new products in the industry which is not regarded as powder industry. It is required to collect information from wide industry fields. The mission of the technical group of fine powder nano-technology is to collect information of the following matters and send them to APPIE members. This mission is achieved in the cooperation with other technical groups

  • Low cost, high quality of products in the mass production
  • Development of powder processing technology (separation, refinement, dust-collection, and filtration) which is applied to promote usage of fine and nano particles in various areas and development of device integration for the powder process
  • Development of the recycle and disposal process technologies taking the following factors into consideration; product life cycle such as the exposure prevention of nano and fine particles from manufacturing site and used products
  • Collecting information about application of nano particle technology for wide industry and science fields, and prevailing nano particle technology
