The technical group of transport was established in 1989, by organizing makers and users of bulk-solid conveyers in Japan. We conduct activities partially in cooperation with bulk-handling technical group, because we have common interest. Our main activities are developing unexplored markets and finding new trends of transport technology. We are interested in future issues, such as resolution of fixing contamination, development of energy saving technology, applications of numerical simulation and novel measuring technique.
Current level of technology, trend and activities in future
- The importance of dense phase transport at low velocity remains the same in the field of pneumatic transport. It is the challenge to develop sophisticated techniques such as transportation of brittle, cohesive and high-water-content materials
- Owing to remarkable progress of computational capability, numerical simulation is getting popular in the wide range of powder operations. It is desired to study the applicability and possibility of the numerical simulation to prediction of the phenomena in powder transportation. Survey of commercial software for general-purpose is also needed. Further, it is desired to investigate the novel measuring techniques such as tomography measurement.
- Attention should be paid to movement of novel technology such as 3D printing. The possibility of the use of such new technology for powder transportation is interested.
